1. Our roots go deeper than they may seem
Although the standalone plant began production in 1986, our story started much earlier. Forging had its place in Trnava long before that, initially as part of the Rolling Mills and Steelworks. Our history did not begin overnight — it grew out of the city’s long-standing industrial tradition.
2. Our story is also linked to the legendary Škoda 1203
As production of the Škoda 1203 — later known as the Škoda TAZ 1500 — increased, so did the need for a strong manufacturing base. This was one of the reasons a new forge was established. Even today, many people in Trnava associate our story with these vehicles, once a familiar sight on the roads.
3. We were built as a modern facility of our time
The decision to build a dedicated forge was no small undertaking. A modern complex was constructed in Trnava, complete with production, technical, and administrative facilities. For its time, it was an exceptional plant, designed for large-scale industrial manufacturing.
4. Our beginnings were supported by expertise from Kopřivnice
During construction, we drew inspiration from the proven model of Tatra in Kopřivnice. Not only technical solutions were adopted — experienced specialists from the local forge also assisted in launching production. Thanks to this, we had solid foundations from the very beginning.
5. For Trnava, we were more than just a factory
We did not only produce components — we provided jobs, stability, and honest craftsmanship. Many people from Trnava worked here, while others know our story through their parents or grandparents. This is why the forge still holds a special place in the city today.
6. We went through difficult times — but endured
After 1989, the entire economy underwent transformation, and we were no exception. Several owners followed, and there were years that were far from easy. Yet our story did not end. In 2004, a new chapter began under the name HKS Trnava, later HKS Forge.
7. Today, we carry Trnava’s tradition across Europe
The new era brought new partnerships and a new identity. Shortly after the restart, we became a direct supplier of forgings for Opel, later also for Renault. Over time, we earned the trust of other major clients. Today, we demonstrate that Trnava’s industrial tradition continues to have a strong place in modern Europe.
A story forged in steel — for 40 years
We are not just a continuation of production. We are also a continuation of Trnava’s memory — connecting a past that is not forgotten with a present built on honest work, expertise, and pride in what is created here.
