Green power generation is an important topic for many of the customers for whom the forge produces forgings. Increasingly, they are discovering how self-sufficient the forge is in the production of energy. These issues were one of the reasons why HKS Forge proceeded with the construction of the power station. The power station will have a capacity of 1.5 MW, which will cover part of the electricity consumption.
The forge will install it on the roof of the production halls. "We have already received positive opinions from structural engineers for this project and the installation of the power station has been approved according to our plans. We are currently finalising the project, the panels have already been imported," says Slavomír Gregor, Production and Technical Director at HKS Forge.
Before installation, the forge still has to arrange for roof repairs and lightning conductor replacement. "At the same time, we need to provide a separate transformer for the power station and modify the electricity substation," added Slavomír Gregor. According to the plans, HKS Forge should commission the power station by the end of the year. The forge is expecting a total investment of EUR 1.5 million in this project.
