Local engineering company HKS Forge from Trnava donated an adjustable electric bed and furniture for the nurses’ station to the Neurology Department at Trnava Hospital.
According to a statement from Radovan Pobočík, one of the company’s managing directors, the company once again demonstrated its presence in the region and its commitment to share in improving healthcare for patients at Trnava Hospital.
“Our gift to Trnava’s Neurology Department is proof of our commitment to patients and residents of the Trnava region. We decided to assist the hospital because no one truly knowns when they’ll need medical care, which certainly applies to us, our employees and their family members,” noted Mr Pobočík in summarising this positive initiative.
The Neurology Department at Trnava Hospital received an adjustable electric hospital bed for patients from HKS Forge with healthcare staff also receiving new furniture for the nurses’ station.
The total value of the gift is more than €3000.

“We are truly pleased with HKS Forge’s decision. The adjustable electric hospital bed is the first in our department and helps patients and nurses when properly positioning patients. We are confident that this is the first of many to come in our department,” said head physician of the Neurology Department Georgi Krastev and lead nurse Jana Hirnerová in praise upon acceptance of this generous gift.
The Neurology Department is responsible for diagnosing and treating the full spectrum of neurological conditions and diseases. Care is provided on an in-patient and out-patient basis.
HKS Forge was established in 1986 as the forge for the Trnava Automobile Works (TAZ) as a separate division to produce components for the Czechoslovak auto industry.
The company has undergone numerous organisational and ownership changes since 1996. The company was taken over in 2003 by HKS, a process which began with its reorganisation and modernisation.
The company has undergone systematic modernisation since 2005 with increases achieved in capacities and efficiency and further continuous development of its manufacturing program. The company officially changed its name to HKS Forge in 2006.
The company continues to benefit from its advantageous geographic location, in particular from its excellent connection to the European motorway network and the long mechanical engineering tradition of the Trnava region and its highly qualified workforce.
HKS Forge manufactures die forgings used as parts in the auto industry and in mechanical engineering in general and in the agricultural, railway and construction industries.
